Mr. Edwards is a Certified Marine Surveyor (CMS) with the National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS). He has been surveying in the Pacific Northwest since 1992, achieved CMS status in 1996, and is well known throughout the Puget Sound region and nationally for providing a full range of professional services relative to vessel Condition and Valuation Surveys, Mechanical Surveys, New Boat Construction and Consultation, Vessel Refit Oversight and Consultation, Ultrasonic Thickness Testing on metal hulls, and Damage Evaluations. During this time Mr. Edwards has surveyed thousands of private yachts from 20' to 200' in length, as well as numerous commercial vessels up to 205' in length, and has traveled extensively to provide his services throughout the US and internationally. In addition, Mr. Edwards represents the interests of several marine insurance underwriters relative to vessel damage and/or loss, field investigations, and supervision of repair work.

Mr. Edwards has been working in the Puget Sound boating industry since 1979, outfitting new and used vessels for use in the Northwest and offshore. Additionally, he served as a yacht broker for three of the Northwest's premier yacht brokerage firms between 1980 and 1991. His previous work as both a yacht rigger and a yacht broker/consultant, selling and outfitting both power and sail boats, gives him a unique perspective on the entire buying and outfitting process, as well as most facets of boat ownership. In addition, Mr. Edwards brings to his work a background as an FAA-licensed Airframe and Powerplant mechanic, mechanical skills honed as an amateur sports car racer, and current skills as an avid sailboat racer and cruiser.

Mr. Edwards holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of California.

Mr. Edwards is currently the principle surveyor and owner of North Beach Marine Surveyors, Inc.
